Biography

2014 Season

Baek "Swift" Dae-Hoon was signed to his first professional team when he joined the new Xenics Storm roster consisting of himself, Arrow, GimGoon, CoCo, and Piccaboo. The team played their first tournament was a team during the International e-Culture Festival 2013, winning the tournament with a 2-0 victory in the finals over Young Glory. They qualified for PANDORA.TV Champions Winter 2013-2014 and surprised many by making it to the quarterfinals. Unfortunately, they fell there with a 3-1 loss to NaJin White Shield. The team disbanded shortly afterwards but Swift and CoCo both managed to secure a spot on the roster of CJ Entus Frost. This team competed in HOT6iX Champions Spring 2014 and made it to the quarterfinals but lost 3-1 to Samsung Blue. Frost also competed in HOT6iX Champions Summer 2014 but the team bombed, dropping out of the tournament in the group stage. Soon after, Swift left the team.

2015 Season

In January of 2015, Swift joined the chinese team Qiao Gu as their new jungler. The team surprised many by placing third during the 2015 Demacia Cup Spring Season, beating teams like Snake eSports, OMG, and Team WE even though they were an LSPL team. They beat Vici Potential Gaming 3-1 in the finals of the 2015 LSPL Spring Playoffs and automatically qualified for the 2015 LPL Summer Regular Season. In the 2015 Demacia Cup Summer Season, Qiao Gu didn't fare as well, falling out in the round of 16 with a 3-1 loss to LGD Gaming. They still ended in second in the LPL and went into the 2015 LPL Summer Playoffs as the second seed. They made it to the finals but met LGD again, this time losing in a close 3-2 set. They still qualified for the 2015 Season China Regional Finals but failed to make it to the 2015 Season World Championship after losing 2-0 to Invictus Gaming in the winner's bracket and then losing to them 3-0 in the loser's bracket.

2016 Season

Qiao Gu competed at IEM Season X - Cologne where they made it to the finals but lost 3-2 to Ever. However, QG were still invited to IEM Katowice in March 2016 where they beat Fnatic in their first best of one but were then subsequently eliminated in the group stages following a loss to SK Telecom T1 and then losing to Fnatic 1 - 2.

In May 2016, Qiao Gu Reapers renamed to Newbee.[1]
